Stoner fears Pedrosa more than Rossi

MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner continued playing mind games with Valentino Rossi on Thursday, saying Dani Pedrosa would be his main rival this season.

Ducati's Stoner, who won the 28th Australian Sport Awards on Wednesday, claimed the 2007 MotoGP title ahead of second-placed Spaniard Pedrosa on a Honda and Yamaha's Rossi.

"Last year Valentino Rossi didn't finish second but third. Therefore I should fear Pedrosa more. Anyway it is better to be chased than to chase," the 22-year-old told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

He added: "We cannot try to keep this (the number one) without a lot of hard work. At the moment the pre-season testing is going very very well. We've improved the bike a lot in a lot of the areas that we really struggling last year. So at the moment I feel very comfortable.

"Also Bridgestone has done a fantastic job: we've improved a little bit with a couple of new tyres and we are just waiting for the beginning of the season. But I try not too expect too much from this season. I'll try to do the same we did last year and work hard at this."

Rossi, who has won seven world titles, finished outside the top two last year for the first time in any category since his rookie season in 1996. He blamed Michelin tyres and has switched to Bridgestone.

Stoner made similar remarks about Rossi earlier this year but the Italian has largely resisted the temptation to take the bait and start a war of words.

The season opens on March 9 in Qatar with the first-ever night race.

Pa saj ni res...Honda in Yamaha lobirata za uvedbo rev limiterja 19.000 obratov v MGP :headbang: Vzrok gre nedvomno iskati v superiornosti Ducatijevega sistema Desmo :naughty: , verjetno bi bilo za Hondo preveč ponižujoče zgledovati se po tem sistemu, po drugi strani pa izgleda da pneumatsko krmiljenje ne daje željenih rezultatov :o

Meni se zdi tole nagravžno, 10 let dominacije Honde, pa se nobeden ne sme pritoževat, 1 leto Ducatija, pa je že vse narobe :wacko: Bravo Kawasaki za odločno ne strinjanje z idejo Honde in Yamahe :grupni:

Ducati technical director Filippo Preziosi has hit out at proposals put forward by Yamaha and Honda to introduce a rev limit for engines in MotoGP.

Talks about future changes to technical regulations were held between manufacturers at last weekend's official MotoGP test at Jerez, and one idea being discussed is for MotoGP engines to be limited to 19,000rpm.

But with Ducati likely to be the only manufacturer to suffer as a result of such a change, Preziosi has suggested the plans are being designed to hamper their team on the back of their dominant 2007 campaign - rather than reduce costs or improve safety.

"Well, (we may as well) say that Italian bikes ridden by Australian riders are barred from taking part in MotoGP," Preziosi told Gazzetta dello Sport. "In fact, since in Superbikes we won only with Australians and Britons, I'll add the latter ones too. What a coincidence this limitation is...

"I say since we are able to get this performance with a system that is fitted on a road bike like the Monster 695, the issue of costs doesn't hold water. If then we talk about safety, riders haven't crashed on the straights for years, they crash in turns, so top speed doesn't have anything to do with it.

"I have too much respect for the Japanese to believe they really want to go forward with these projects."

Preziosi's criticism of the idea to introduce rev limits has been supported by Ishiro Yoda, Kawasaki's technical director.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "By bringing the engine displacement to 800cc it was said that the regulations wouldn't be changed for five years. We've already spent plenty of money to re-do the bikes, and there's no point in spending more.

"The aim was to slow down the bikes on the straights, and the 800cc are slower there, even though the lap times decrease. To limit the number of engine revolutions doesn't make sense."

Honda's Shinichi Kokubu, project leader of the RC212V at HRC, made it clear that he was fully supportive of the idea.

"As an engineer, I say that limiting the engine revs could be a way if we want to limit the costs of our bikes. I think that 19,000 revolutions would be a fair limit," he said.

Ker je rossi glih "naključno" pri yamahi se zna nardit da bojo sprejel kej podobnega...uno o zlati kokoši etc :)

Klasično krmiljenje ventilov z vzmetmi je po neki teoriji uporabno do 14-14,5 K/obratov/min,pnevmatsko do 18.-18,5 K/obratov/min za potrebe Moto GP(F1 se lahko zavrti še nekoliko višje-20-21 K/obratov/min),no Ducati je pač zvest "DESMO" sistemu,ki sicer požre nekaj moči,vendar ne zamuja pri pravilni distribuciji vhodnih in izhodnih plinov in s tem povezanim uravnoteženim dodajanjem moči z čim manjšo potuho elektronike.Na kratko povedano ,je Honda ob vsej svoji veličini in znanju prisiljena "minirati"neko italijansko modno muho na način,ki postavlja proizvajalce v neenakopraven položaj.

No, tvoja teorija okoli DESMO popolnoma ne drži. Fora tega sistema je ravno v delovanju, ki ne povzroča porabe energije in seveda natančnost delovanja, enkrat sem že poskušal nekaj razlagati glede tega:

...Ducati je v kontekstu moči še vedno nekaj v prednosti na račun sistema krmiljenja ventilov desmotronik, ki skoraj ne povzroča izgube moči motorja in omogoča zelo natančno vodenje ventilov tudi pri zelo ekstremnih obratih motorja. Motorji s klasičnim krmiljenjem namreč porabijo znaten del energije (specifične moči) za stiskanje vzmeti. Predstavljajte si, kako močna mora biti vzmet v motorju (in kolikšna sila je potrebna za stiskanje le te), ki se vrti s 17.000+ obrati ohmy.gif , poleg tega je tudi natančnost krmiljenja pri ekstremnih pogojih navzgor omejena. Klasičen sistem porabi za delovanje med 2 in 3% specifične moči, pneumatsko krmiljenje pa zahteva še vedno nekako 40% energije sistema vzmeti. Pri 990ccm agregatih ta razlika oz. izguba ni bila tako očitna, saj so imeli motorji večjo zalogo moči ter predvsem več navora z boljšo uporabno krivuljo, pri 800ccm pa je ta razlika že upoštevanja vredna...

Kako prosim? Ma to je že prehudo. :xx: Dakar so sprivatizirali Francozi, WSBK (ponovno) postaja Ducati Cup, F1 tudi počasi a vztrajno rine v težave, zdaj si motoGP lastninita Yamaha in Honda?!?...ŽA-LOS-TNO!

Še dobro de WRC ostaja World Rally Championship!!!

Nimaš kej....tekmovalnost in dirkanje, ki sta dolga leta prisotna v MotoGp, se bosta kmalu umaknila zaradi takih in onakih spletk. Noben več ne dirka za gušt. Važni so le €uri. Pa naj bo to na račun dirkanja.....žalostno. :BUA:

ja vrjetn. tud rossi je kriv da ne zaslužiš tolk kot on in ne furaš motogp, čeprav se 100X bolš peleš, jl :whistle:

tuki kolkr jst vem ni fora da bi sprejel zato k so tisti ki bi to sprejel precej naklonjeni rossiju...

že lansklet je blo tk... dejte rossiju bridgestone gume al pa bojo vsi mel bridgestone... pač rossi je kura ki nese zlata jajca in za tako kuro je treba lepo skrbet da bo še naprej lepo nesla veeeliiiiikaa zlata jajca

pa bi prej reku da je kdo komu drugmu fouš k pa gorgh rossiju....
