BIG DOG MOTORCYCLES BUILDS ON ITS TEN-YEAR

TRADITION OF AGGRESSIVE DESIGN IN 2004 LINE-UP :P

WICHITA, Kansas (September 22, 2003) – Big Dog Motorcycles, the leading designer and manufacturer of high performance, highly-styled heavyweight custom cruisers, gave its dealers their first opportunity to see the company’s 2004 line-up in Colorado Springs.

Ridgeback Introduction

Last year, Big Dog Motorcycles put its teeth into the chopper market with an aggressively designed entrant. The company’s 2003 Chopper achieved virtually instant stardom among dealers, riders, and critics alike, quickly becoming one of the top sellers in the industry. The top bike in the Big Dog line as well, it is expected to be a strong seller in 2004.

Using the Chopper as inspiration, Big Dog Motorcycles unveiled its all-new Ridgeback. At first glance, the Ridgeback is essentially a hardtail chopper, reminiscent of the rebelliously raked bikes of the legendary 1960s. But look more closely at the nine foot-long machine and you see extremely pointed lower legs, bold wheel design, a massive 250 rear tire, sculptured struts, short rear fender, and low seat height and ground clearance – all making the Ridgeback the most radical bike ever made in the company’s ten-year history.

“Big Dog has always been at forefront of motorcycle design,” Messer added, “The Ridgeback is a natural for us. At almost nine-feet long, a super-fat rear tire, rigid frame, and aggressive, rebellious design, it’s a perfect balance of ripping performance, extreme power, and an edgy attitude.”

2004 Pitbull

From the new beefier 21-inch tire on the front to the new sculptured struts on the rear, to the muscular 1½-inch frame to the hidden oil tank, the Pitbull returns for its seventh year exuding a hardcore attitude and unmistakable refinement. The 2004 Pitbull, base MSRP $23,900, sports a rigid frame, 250 rear tire, a split gas tank with integrated speedometer, and a new wheel design.

In addition to an optional full-polished motor and transmission, riders can make the Pitbull even more showroom custom with optional battery cover graphics, painted struts, and different wheels.

“Here, in our Pitbull, are the traits that have made this bike the most steadfast bike in the Big Dog line: brilliant performance, precise handling, unparalleled quality, and exciting style and, of course, a blast to ride,” Messer said.

2004 Boxer

Messer continued, “Right from its introduction three years ago, the Boxer was destined to transform expectation of what a custom cruiser could be – a cruiser you could actually cruise on for a long period of time.”

The combination of “custom” and “long-range cruising” seemed unlikely at first. Yet, with Big Dog Motorcycle’s rubber-mounted bike, it’s clear there is no conflict. Making the bike custom is Big Dog’s interpretation of trick graphics, radical rakes, and dazzling chrome. Making the bike the best riding in the Big Dog line is a 6-speed transmission, rubber-mounted motor, and exposed nitrogen gas shocks.

While the suspension on the 2004 Boxer, base MSRP $24,900, remains the same for the new year, it did undergo some subtle cosmetic enhancements. A new fatter 200 rear tire and new wheel designs adds a custom touch while a standard LED tachometer integrated with the speedo adds easier operation – visually indicating when to shift through the 6-speed transmission.

Additional options include painted struts to match graphic selection, different wheels, and a full-polished motor and transmission.

2004 Mastiff:xx:

Released with the Boxer in 2001, the Mastiff continues to boast unprecedented levels of agility and versatility – perfect for weekend rides or week-long cruising. The agility and performance is enhanced with a thrilling design that changed just enough to make the 2004 Mastiff, base MSRP of $25,900, look even more custom.

Changes include hidden, undistracting rear axles and a new wheel design. Riders can customize even further with wheel design options, painted struts, oil tank graphics, and full-polished motor and transmission.

“The new Mastiff, like its predecessors, will be admired for its style, but also recognized as one of the very best rider’s bikes,” said Messer.

2004 Chopper & Chopper DT :P

With the introduction of the 2004 Chopper, an icon is reborn. Big Dog Motorcycles is not just continuing the heritage of the rebellious two-wheelers of America’s 1960s, it is resubmitting the modern interpretation of a classic. Radical, raked front forks, stretched fuel tank, super fat 250 on the back, and an integrated fork brace on the front. It’s reminiscent of bikes seen back then, and eye-popping now in every detail.

With bold, purposeful styling and outstanding rideability, the Big Dog Motorcycles Chopper, base MSRP $26,500, charges into 2004 with an LED tachometer integrated with the speedo as well as hidden axles.

While the road-commanding Chopper itself changed only subtly, the company expanded the Chopper line even more with a higher-style version: the 2004 Chopper DT. Powered by a ground-pounding 107 cu.in. engine, a 6-speed transmission, and a recipient of many other standard Big Dog Motorcycles components, the Chopper DT, base MSRP $26,900, is delivered with a standard LED tachometer, billet front motor mount, hidden voltage regulator, a narrower seat width, and a DT-exclusive wheel design.

“You look at the lines, feel how surprisingly easy it is to ride, and get the looks at every stoplight through town, and you know our Chopper is just about as good as it gets,” Messer said.

2004 Bulldog :D

At the end of the 20th century, Big Dog Motorcycles introduced the Bulldog – certainly a bike laden with 21st century technology and design. In fact, it blazed the engineering trail with innovations that will influence Big Dog Motorcycles and the custom cruiser industry for years to come.

In 2004, the Bulldog will continue with its revolutionary right side drive that gives it near perfect center-of-balance for superb riding, balance, and handling. In addition, the Bulldog, base MSRP $28,900, sports a new wheel design, new hidden axles, and a standard LED tachometer as its changes from 2003.

Messer continued, “The Bulldog offers a high design, a high standard of agility, ultimate riding pleasure, and at the same time, a custom look that gets the looks.”

Si tam frajer in dvakrat pokneš z avspuhi. Pol pa vs omamljen od samovšečnosti naližiš spomenik nazaj na prikolico in greš domov!
