FOURTH ROUND VOR TROPHY 2002

Enrico Mariani is in the first position in the temporary final score. Alan Pahor, the young revelation of the VOR trophy, got the victory in the second race.

The fourth appointment of the VOR Trophy 2002 was held at Pomposa, in Ferrara, showing sudden and unexpected turns of spectacular events.

Enrico Mariani has reinforced his supremacy in the temporary final score thanks to his victory in the second race and thanks to the second place in the first competition that has made him reached180 points.

In a race marked by beautiful summer sunset, at the start, Mariani tried to leave his adversaries behind, and suddenly he was followed by Borella, Calcagni, Pahor and Veronese.

At the beginning, the challange for the first positions created great enthusiasm to the audience. Mariani’s experience seemed to control Borella’s never-ending determination but, unexpectedly, the young revelation of the VOR Trophy 2002, Alan Pahor, became author of overtakings and manoeuvres of high school.

He conquered two positions, went to follow the leader who in the meantime had been able to leave behind slightly his adversaries. Mariani’s advantage was reducing turn after turn till to become a shut struggle between him and Pahor.

Great exploit of Alan Pahor that, to the last turn, took advantage of Mariani’s little mistake and realized the first position. It’s his first victory in the 2002 season. Diego Borella finished in third position.

The second competition offered again the enthusiastic scenes of the first one, however, with different final results. Mariani, again the fastest at the start, was hard-fought by the young Alan Pahor. This time, Enrico Mariani was able to maintain the leadership of the race and got his fourth seasonal victory. In third place, Fabio Veronese, followed by Loreno Calcagni and Marco Checchi.

In the Italian Supermotard Championship it’s remarkable Fabrice Guyot’s great performance who realized a second and third final place. Good race for Lorenzo Mariani who got the fourth place in both races.
