At 500 miles... Did about 50 miles yesterday and 50 today, no stalls. Either I've adjusted, the bike is breaking in, or both. I've ridden highway, back roads and forest roads (parts of sections 1 and 5 of MABDR).
This bike is a pleasure to ride, even on the highway. At speeds up to 70MPH there is no buffeting. You feel the wind but it doesn't beat you up, at least for me at 5'10". Haven't gone much beyond 70MPH, will get there after first service.
My front wheel is a little noisy, will look into that today. Sounds like something is too tight or maybe a bushing is missing. It kinda squeaks when rolling it in and out of the garage, but I can't hear it on the road.
I've owned 890R, Norden 901, R1250GS, CRF300L and currently a CRF450RL and Desert X. The Ducati is still my favorite, but this 390R is shaping up to be exactly the comfortable riding, capable light Adv I've been looking for. This bike is light and nimble (for an adv) and will be comfortable to ride hundreds of miles.
There are lots of parts and aspects where cost cutting is evident, and time will tell on durability, but overall I am quite pleased with this motorcycle.
I like the stock tires more than I expected. Suspension is OK (180#). Brakes are adequate. Shifts like butter. TFT is nice. The windscreen works well. Power isn't stellar but more than adequate.
I'll be adding a tail rack, skid plate, mirrors and better hand guards, probably a rally seat when available, and setting up the bars (they are perfect for me sitting, not so much for standing).
